Climate control abnormalities (1 Viewer)

I’ve noticed some issues with my climate control

1) the auto button does nothing.
2) the ac is always on
3) when you shut the car off and restart it, everything is off. It doesn’t remember what the fan settings were
4) the heater core valve actuator cable is stiff and won’t move the valve on its own

I’m leaning towards an issue with the control module for items 1-3 and a potentially frayed cable for #4. Or at least that’s all I can come up with, as weird as the first items are.

Has anyone seen similar issues or have any suggestions?

Never seen that but a free and easy reset is to disconnect the battery for a minute or two and reconnect. It’s worth a try.

To close the loop on this, basically it was a problem in the control panel/module itself

I replaced it with a used control panel in ten minutes and it solved all my issues.

Ac stuck on
Front defrost didn’t work
Auto didn’t work
Every time you shut the car off it forgot what it was set to

All fixed. Best of luck.
Minor issues other than the front defrost. It’s starting to get cold here in the am and I need that, but the rest are kind of annoying. Happy to have it resolved

Well it still doesn’t remember the settings so that’s annoying but everything works at least. Lol
