I'll tell you this Cleveland will be way different than SoCal!!! Not bad but different. You will be close (1-2hours) from the Smokies. Very close to the Ocoee River (awesome) ! Couple hours from 3 or 4 places to wheel! Come on out and join the STLCA crew!

Small town but growing rapidly with the addition of the new vw passat plant nearby. Like Rance said, Ocoee area really nice with hiking, river sports, mtn biking, etc. it is also less than 30 min from Chatt with lots of water access. Blue ridge mountains just south in ga.

These are the good. Also, it will be SUPER cheap compared to California. Literally EVERYTHING, food, gas, rent, houses, cars, etc.
Also, the economic downfall hasn't been felt nearly as bad due to the enormous amount of business in the area (M&Mr, Whirlpool, kitchenaid, VW, the two Amazon plants, Wacker, etc)

Now the bad.
Its TN, so its in the South. Trailerparks, people with 2 teeth, methheads, people who dress up to go to Walmart (there are two, which are ALWAYS packed) goatf&%@ers, everything you stereotype about the South.
Also, its the headquarters for about a dozen Christian based organizations (one of the top being The Church of God and coming in second The Church of God of Propesy). Whats does this mean? Cleveland is very, very religious. Not very Christian like, but very religious.

I JUST moved away from Cleveland about two months ago after living there from 2006-2012.

What exactly is potential taking you to Cleveland?

Most all of the above is true, and if you have been in SoCal all your life, it will be a little bit of a change. Things here in the south do tend to be more relaxed. The fast pace of Cali is going to be a memory.

To me the best thing about moving out of Cali, aside from the cost of living, state income tax, living in a broke state, crazy people, etc, is the fact that you can own and even carry a gun. To quote Mark Walberg in Shooter "Welcome to Tennessee, patron state of shootin' stuff"

Also, how are your sinuses? Pollen is really really bad and the area is located in a valley so "new" airflow isn't very consistant. I never bothers me but my wife had to do shots to keep from going postal

Cleveland is an amazing area anyone call me when your in this area I have lived here my whole life now some of the stereotypes stated are true but you have to choose most of your friends wisely in the south as do you every where else that being set aside this is the center of the southeast outdoors but it will be very different from socal I was born and bread here and I went to cali for a few weeks stated in the south and drove north I did really care for it but that's my own opinion I just love it here and couldn't see living anywhere else
