I have a odd whiny noise that is bothering me coming from the pulleys. However four people at Toyota looked at it and tried to hear the noise and they didn't notice any strange sounds. It's bothering me though. How hard is it to take the pulley bearings off to clean and grease them? I've never done anything like that, only changed spark plugs, done exhaust mods, intakes and what not...nothing involving pulleys, what do you think?

I had a whiny noise coming from my passenger seat for awhile. Then after a got a divorce it went away.

Once I saw "passenger seat" in the sentence I instantly knew the rest of the sentence was going to be disappointing.

I had the whinning pulley. Took it in and the warranty covered the replacement. Don't let the service say no. Good luuck!

Well it's a bit of a problem when four different people don't notice the friggin' sound. Apparently it's not as loud as other pulley problems, but loud enough to piss me off when I pull into a garage or am in a drive-thru etc. They aren't saying NO, but they can't exactly fix the problem if they can't trace the sound.

It's sounds like you may have a supercharger in your hood, LOL

Lol. The TBS sound is taking place of the SC in terms of "whoosh" sound until I can get the S\C.

I've decided to not bother with the Pulleys...if they go, they go. After driving my Moms car (Infinti FX-35) my pulleys are WHISPER quiet compared to hers...oh and FYI, Never try to change a battery out on a FX-35...a job that takes 10 minutes ends up taking two hours with the way Infiniti designed the battery compartment hidden up near the firewall on the far PASSENGER side....I swear the designers must have been smoking something.

I complained to my dealer last year about them too and they said they would take a look at them. They claimed everything was fine, but then the next time I went in they all said what's that screeching sound? I was like, WTF! They're not the sharpest tools in the shed. I'm only going back for powertrain related warranty items if I have to. All other maintenance is in my hands now.
