Cigarette socket replacement/access? (1 Viewer)

Previous owner had dismantled the outlet for the cigarette lighter (not the power socket to the right). Does anyone have a decent set of instructions on how to replace or even a detailed diagram? The parts diagrams are a bit hard to read at best. I have some of the pieces/brackets, but I'm missing the main part of the socket. I "think" some of the pieces are floating around in the cavity behind the outlets, but not sure how to open that up.

OK, so I sort of answered my own question on access, I didn't realize the trim panel around the ashtray/outlets came out.

That said, I could still use any details on the parts list.

I don’t know about parts numbers but I removed this from my 02 LX and will let it go cheap.

Sounds like you're planning on replacing with OEM parts, and already have them, but I replaced my socket with a USB/USB-C charger. More useful in my application.

That looks useful. Where does one acquire such product?

Perhaps more importantly, how are you lighting all of your smokes?

There are a lot of options for these USB charger inserts on Amazon. I paid about $16 for mine with dual USB ports and a little voltage indicator. I t-tapped into the wiring at the back because I was feeling lazy. It took about 10m total. The hardest part was removing that trim piece (02 LX) and figuring out how to remove the cigarette lighter without taking a hammer to it.
