Found radio that was in the 69 when I bought it. I do think it would super cool to put this back in it.

Wonder if there is somewhere I could have it sent to make sure it works like it should?

I recently sent a pair of stick replacement radios for Jamie’s 1989 fj62 to Bishop's Vintage Car Audio Repair and only after he looked at my email address when he was letting me know it was on the way to me that he figured out that he’s a customer of mine. 😀

Unfortunately our receiving guy put it in his office instead of mine, (or leaving it in the receiving area), so I didn’t get to install it when I was in Austin.

Thinking of soaking the frame insides with Corroseal and let it sit for couple weeks prior to having blasted and coated. At least this may offer some protection where sand blasting wont get. Now sure how to get it in the hard to reach areas unless someone has some tricks. Eastwood has the directional spray tip that would be easier?

Any opinions on this?

Chemical dip followed by e coating. Okay so we have had that conversation. Corroseal is a good product if you can figure out how to apply it everywhere in the boxed frame.

Are you thinking paint or powder after blasting?

My extensive search and calling of several people I found no one in Tulsa or OKC who would do frame.

Friends who own machine shop and do some fabrication in Norman also struck out.

So that leaves me powder coating and sand blasting for $600 which is heckuva deal.

I’m leaning towards the Eastwood internal frame coating simply for fact it has the nozzle to place internally. I like the corroseal, however it doesn’t appear it’s as easy to coat interior frame.

Sounds good to me Jon. Corroseal has a very low viscosity FWIW. Think in terms of 2% milk. I don't think it would be that hard to coat the entire inside with a pump up sprayer but you might need to roll the frame once or twice. Yes, easy for me to say from my armchair.

My extensive search
Needed to include the search term "Cavity Rust Proofing / Wax Injection Gun"

Nice A$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Fixed it for ya Jim!!
Understand that well...can't wait to see the finished project. Exactly what I would have liked to have done. Just not in the cards at the time.

Why not just use fluid film?
This is very effective here in Montana but it needs to be reapplied more than I’d like.

Every dog in town will go nuts around you too as it’s a kind of sheep oil based product… yum! Mutton!

Yeah the reapplying annually doesn't do much for me. Since fluid film stays wet to a degree I have images of my frame looking the same color of the dirt roads we drive down everyday to get home.

Looking for the one and done option!
