Chrome grill?

The question of removing an LX grill in favor of a chrome one popped up over on ClubLexus, and I know that on 'some' grills, it's already chromed underneath a black paint - I know mine is - but they don't always know everything.

So does anyone have the definitive info on what yrs. have that?

Mine is an '00, so that's 1.

1998-2002 with the all dark grey painted center. The 03 doesnt have it like this. Pilot, are you questioning me and Aedgington? I can not believe you! Just take your time and you can strip the paint and have a sexy chrome grille.

#3 - In hindsight, I suppose sending a person over here, who is only interested in dressing up his ride is a bit silly - whether you're over there or not - but aside from you, Aedington, and Jim (couple others whose names I cannot recall) - I generally find a dearth of knowledge over there.

#4 - I thought I might try to bring another LX'er over to the dark side....

hehe pilot, im just bustin balls. Mud is filled with so much more knowledge and less know it all kiddies. Sure im 19 but i do my research and try to help people.

on that thread on CL, there was a guy who did it to his white LX470 and it doesnt look bad. Personally however, i really wish i went with the custom paint matched look instead of the free mod to expose the chrome. I think it would show more taste in fine subtle design changes. Im going to look into getting a new grille painted to match my upper color.

Ied like to see a white LX with a white matching grille and chrome trim, THAT would look pretty.
