I have a few friends that hang out on Marlins forum that are planning on going down to Flatnasty on the 29th and camping until the 1st if anyone else is interested in camping.

Trailer?

Anyone have a trailer available for use on the 29th? My buddy Dan is thinking of bringing his newly modified J**P but it will be the first run ever (not even road driven yet) so we're thinking trailering it would be smart.

Let me know if anyone has anything available.

Thanks!

I would but I'm using mine for the same thing. You can probably rent one from Uhaul pretty cheap.

U-Haul is definitely the back-up plan. I'll probably be towing it with my 80 though, so I hope the gas mileage doesn't plummet.

I'll see you all Saturday!

Plummet from what? bad to REALLY bad?

Yep, that would be the plummet to which I'm referring!

Looks like we'll be using the U-Haul option on Saturday. Anyone know what a '95 Jeep Wrangler YJ weighs (with Dana 60 and 40 locked axles swapped in with 37" tires on Hummer wheels and a V8 and matching tranny)?

The stock curb weight is of a stock 95 XJ is 2934 lbs. min. I'd tell Uhaul less than 4k if they ask. The last time I wanted to rent a hauler from our local Uhaul, they said it could only be pulled with one of ther trucks. Let me know if you have any problems. I may be able to scrape one up for you.

A 1 ton drivetrain and 37" tires will add to that considerably.

I just wanted to let you all know that I may not meet you guys at the Hen House. I have to meet some other Toyota guys at the McDonalds at 141 and 44 in Valley Park at 7:00 AM. If you're going to eat breakfast I may still catch you there before you leave. Otherwise I'll see you at the park.

Sounds like it should still be below the 4,000 lb limit of the u-haul car trailer, so we should be good even with the bigger engine, drivetrain, tires/wheels and stuff.

We are eating breakfast at the hen house (I'm coming hungry) so we should still be there when you come through. I believe we'll be on CB 11 this trip if you don't find us at the restuarant.

See you all tomorrow!

Any pics from Saturday Guys?

Sorry for the missing pics guys. I posted them up earlier this week (I thought) but something seems to have gone wrong. I'll try them again shortly and if that fails, I'll email them to MoJ and maybe the non-mud hosting will do the trick.

BTW, I had a great time and managed to scare myself yet again! That last trail was pretty slick and I nearly slide side-ways into a tree, right after Jason warned me that it might happen. I also thought I was going to slide into that big friggin rock near the end of the trail - it was pretty slick out there and I'm pretty sure I had the least tread of anyone (and the smallest tires).

Again though, I had a blast and I'm already looking to go again. I suppose I should work on tune-up issues and improved timing though (the CEL for P401 can wait).

I'll try the pics again.

Either way, I was thinking I could host them in full resolution and do a write up for the Trails-Events-Expeditions section of 'mud as a way of promoting the local STL area "club". That section gets a lot more traffic than this one and might draw in a few lurkers from the area. If we could relate it to tech we could also post thread in the 80's section. Hmmm, maybe have wfd175 do a write up on his exhaust repair after smashing it on trail #4 when I suggested he try a more aggressive line. :whoops:

(Since I've been unable to make any of the meetings I was trying to think of something I could contribute to the effort of forming a local TLCA chapter.)

Backpressure Mod = Bezel Fix

A chrome antenna bezel should fix this right up ;)

You might explore going over the frame rail with that pipe like on a 93-94 80.

The difference in cat length is what throws a monkey wrench in that plan. As you know the space is there on the 80's, but the double cat exit point is further downstream than the 93-94. I could get shorter cats/cat and make it work.
