came home from the MRV and made amazing time on the freeway...seriously, never even touched the brakes from the bottom of the hill , all the way to Ventura, and that's on the 210 and 134 to the 101....
I just set cruise control and lolly gagged it..just enjoyed the quiet and clear weather.
Got home and parked the rig, unloaded half of the stuff, as per usual...thought nuthin of it.
Let the rig sit all week and then drove it to work on a Friday and smelt something burning. Grease.
At first I thought it was my drive shaft just burping out onto my exhaust can, but then looked at the inside of my front hubs and was greeted with a surprise.
big ol glop of moly sitting on the rotor guard and a fat booger of sauce all over the bottom of the knuckle.
I reached under there and gave the nuts a twist and one of them was two full turns loose just to get it to finger tight!
I grabbed the sockets and went to town.
that gets your heart rate going...
I've read the threads, and seen the carnage, and it's always in the back of my head. Hell I just reefed them tight a month ago while I was laying around with my son looking at stuff.
thinking of putting a nylock on them to double up. Might even work as a thread guard for the Rubicon.
