I can't imagine there's a connection unless you boogered up the O2 wiring somehow. If it's been running rich for a bit, you might check the plugs for fouling. Check the Engine Coolant Temp sensor as well.

Thanks, will do. Reading through the forums, it appears clear that an o2 code could mean all sorts of things, and not necessarily signal a problem with the sensors. My guess at this early stage is some kind of emissions clog.
