So, it started with "bad knock sensor" code. I kept clearing this code because I "refused" to believe it. Actually it was because I didn't want to disassemble the top. Well, that "bad knock" turned into "bad O2, bank 2 Sensor 2". I'm like, cool I'll just change the O2.
Did not work. So I dug in and took everything apart.
1. Replaced knock sensors
2. Replaced intake manifold gasket. The gaskets had shrunk and was not creating a seal. I was sure this was the problem. My fuel trim was off and I was sure this vacuum leak was adding more fuel.
3. Replaced all vacuum hoses
4. Replaced the starter, didn't need to but I wasn't gonna do all this again.
5. Replaced the heater T's.
Got it all together and ran great until it didn't. I kept getting Sensor 2, Bank 2. I'm like dude!!! Well, I took a stab and replaced the upstream O2. Basically bank 2, sensor 1. That solved the issue. I don't know why the scanner would not tell me sensor 1 was bad.
So what I'm saying is, just replace all the sensors. It's a 2007. We're at 2024.
Now the car runs like a dream. It never ran this good. Ever.
