Anyone been to the Spring Pennzoil Auto Fair at Charlotte Motor Speedway? It is the first weekend in April at the NASCAR track. My 11 year old son has suddenly become obsessed with classic cars since the purchase of the '79 FJ40 in December. I was thinking it would be a fun father/son day but was hoping to hear from someone who has been to see if it is worth the effort. He was streaming the Barrett Jackson Auction when I got home from work last week, but I am confident that it isn't close to comparable. Thanks!

I have been several times. They have activities, new and old cars, modified, super modified, frame off, do and don’ts cars. 😁😂. My FIL is always there in the red field. (Where they sell the junk). He calls it treasure.
It is fun. They also had drifting last year.

Yeah, I go with the kids but mainly for the swap meet and vendors. The Spring event is their largest vs their Fall event. There are cars for sale your son can check out, but there isn't a major live auction component. Lots of walking the infield and various showcased vehicles (one year was all old Jeeps).
If he is scout, there is an Automotive Merit Badge program that is pretty cool. We did it last Fall and they are offering again.

Yeah I went just about every year from 06 to 15.... good time really. You won't find much 4x4 related and i'd say nothing for a land cruiser but if you like cars and your kid likes to look at cars its a great thing to waste a day at.

If Classic cars is what you want, take a look here as well

Wow, that looks pretty amazing. I will have to check out the family schedule and try to fit it in. Thanks for the heads up. I see an '80 FJ is going through on Saturday. Pretty cool inventory so far.

We'll be there on Thursday when there are far fewer people there and you can walk around with ease and linger on the vehicles you like. The place is slammed on Sat.

I plan to be there Thursday as well.

Many auto clubs (PCA, BMW, etc) would get spots on the field and go together, I participated a few times with my old race cars. Mostly old american iron, same thing over and over..... anyway, never saw 4WD groups or clubs... maybe an opportunity.

One year did see a international harvester group, there were plenty of nice Scouts .

Sounds like a good opportunity to promote the ONSC. After all, the LC's are more rare than other makes. I would be up for it if anyone else is.
