Changing liners in a 1 kz-te

Hi all, has anyone changed their liners in a 1kz-te engine?

After driving back from morocco at Christmas I developed a tap which turned out to be excessive wear on one cylinder caused by a blocked cylinder lube jet, the lip round the top is at least 1mm and I feel too much to be bored out so plan to change the liners but can't seam to find any info on wether they are wet or dry liners.

Any info?
 
As far as I am aware they don't run liners....Cant find any in toyodiy.com...
Also the Toyota engine manual has no info on it......
Not to say the std overhaul procedure is to bore out and fit liners...

Can find liners fitted to other engine types like the 13b / bt

You should be able to see the liner in the block if it runs one.......

Your right Kbushnz, I saw liners for sell on eBay for my engine and wrongly put 2+2 together, liners are not fitted from new just liners to fit after machining.

Back to the drawing board..

Correct ,I don't think anyone used liners on Japanese diesels after the early 80s
 
Hi everyone, I know its a old thread but I opened my 1hz and a 1hdt as well a 1kz just today which was original and had bore wear. All of them run dry liners.
You can either pull them out with a special tool like a rubber balloon, you can bore them out and install new ones or i had to chizzle mine out as I was living in the country side and had no way to bring the truck or engine to a machine shop. I installed new liners which I shipped from the city in a box of dry ice. Plug and play. I ordered rings and pistons as well an just honed the liner with a diy tool.
