For those who may have put a tire hoist from a FJ60 under your CDN M101 and are keeping your stock wheels and having trouble like me getting the spring part through the hole opening. Here is what I went with. I cut the last link of chain off from the spring part and now I can just run the chain through the hole and attach to the spring like this! It is a stainless 1/4 X 2 hook that will not give and with the pressure from the spring having tension on it when tire is pulled up tight it will not come off. I am planning on bending the one end on the spring side in which I tried beating it down with a hammer until I smashed my thumb and gave up and I could not bend it with pliers either?
