After alot of brainstorming and a few cases of beer while working on my m100 trailer I realized how simple these litle trailers are. I had a buddy of mine come over who runs a custom metal fab shop, and we came up with plans as where we could remake these things very cheap. Our plans at these stages are to make one or two to get the bugs out and trim costs, but in the end have a product that can be sold at a fair price. The biggest challenge is shipping and as most know every buddy wants to do some mods to whatever they buy. So the idea now is to supply a good platform for this to happen. The idea is this supply the trailer minus the axle and lights, but needs to be assembled so the frame and bottom of the tub is one piece and the sides ,front and back of the tub and fenders are seperate which can be designed to be bolted together or welded, all shipped in a box. Price would be about $500 pus shipping and you get a new trailer with a very close look as to a m101. Now the million dollar question is there any intrest in this or a completly built traier for around $1100.oo

My guess is yes...

Why would someone buy a beat up trailer for $400-700 and put weeks of work into it when you bypass the bull**** and pick one up finished...and for the most part for what some pople are actually geting for a one that needs a ton of work...

Possibly. Agree with titanpat that a new unit shipped for around $1000 is reasonable. Most of us would change brakes/axles anyway. Most of us would sandblast and paint (sandblasting not needed with your idea) anyway. It would require us to find someone to weld it all up (unless we had that equipment) so I'd consider that cost into your final sale price.

Also, some of us would consider alternate finder arrangements, places for jerry cans, etc. Some would prefer to extend it some to put a box in front. So possibly a few options (longer frame for box, few different fender options) would be nice.

Very curious at what shipping these would cost? I imagine not cheap. Would it still be worth it ?
