Do any of you guys use CB's when wheeling to keep track of each other? I don't have one in my FJC yet but I'm always looking for an excuse to buy new gear for the ride. Do I need one for wheeling trips and do you have any recommendations on what type to get? Uwharrie is only a few weeks away and I want to be ready....

Yes we use them. Well, maybe a couple of guys do. A handheld will be sufficient but if you want to go all out then get a Galaxy.

I like using 2 FRS radios. Find a buddy and throw one in his truck either in front or behind you and you will be good. The pack usually stays pretty close to each other and I just use them for spotting while going down the trail. It's not like you are going to be in the outback and won't be within walking distance to someone.

I've got both, but I like the CB better. It all depends on what everybody has.

I use 2meter handhelds or FMRS
