Never heard of a "CB power antenna".

Maybe your trying to over complicate a simple system, AM is a voltage dependant emission verses FM which has constant voltage/current all CB radio antennas are voltage fed. so just buy a good quality firestick and have fun, Larry

The Wilson 5000 is hard to beat. Even it's little brothers like the 1000 and the Lil Wil are extremely good. I am not a big fan of firesticks. If you need a shorter whip-there is a loaded whip for the 5000 that makes it as short or shorter than the Lil' Wil.

I agree-do not over complicate this-it's just CB. Get a quality antenna, tune the swr and yak away.

I still have never heard of a CB power antenna. I don't *think* that approach would work with a CB. I'm not a radio geek by any means, but I know my way aroubnd a CB. I've tweaked a few and run prettry decent setups in 5 of my rigs.

In the CB world, you use a linear amp, to boost the signal going to the antenna. I've got three or four (one may be toast :( ) 300 watt amps.

Anything over 4 watts on CB bands is illegal, regardless of how you achieve it.
