Hey GXOR,
Tried searching the forum but am having a hard time finding consistent information for a lift of this size.
I just got a small 1.5" lift (1.5 in front, 1 in back) using Bilstein shocks + Dobinsons springs with factory UCAs. I took it to a shop nearby that does alignment and toe/camber both came in green but the caster was red under the spec at 1.8/1.4 degrees (in-spec shown as 2.5-4). I talked to the tech and what he basically told me was that this couldn't be adjusted any further. Being clueless about alignment I just assumed they knew what they were talking about and went home. Ride quality is not fantastic (feels a little wobbly on the freeway, but maybe a placebo to a degree?).
Do I need to invest in a pair of aftermarket UCAs to fix this caster issue? Or should my factory UCAs be able to hit at least 2.5 degs on the caster as is if I brought it to a reputable off-road shop? Wondering if I just got finessed by a lazy tech due to my lack of knowledge. Definitely don't mind investing in some UCAs if it will improve my ride quality, but my initial thought was that a lift of this size could get away without an aftermarket UCA.
