In this age of incredibly intrusive and unbeknownst data collection, I went ahead and put in all my vehicle VIN's into the privacy 4 cars website authorizing them to limit the collection and sharing of data by the OEM's. Great, right?

Not so fast. For Toyota apparently this also includes the extensive self reported service history I put into their owner's website that you access after inputting your password, etc. I log in today to discover the only history I have are the three data points from 2021 when I had the dealer do an alignment and the initial break in oil change for my 200. This is quite the crotch punch as I had a LOT of self reported maintenance data to maintain the extended warranty and chain of events for myself and any future maintenance schedule questions. Just a heads up on my experience should any of you start down this road. For new cars, it would likely be fine as you'd supposedly be shutting down the sharing/collecting prior to their nuking your data on the owner's website.
