What's up mudpeeps?! I will soon have an Aussie beaut. I was wondering if I should get regular or classic car insurance?..in SoCal.

Hope this is the right forum.

Thanks.

Thanks, Cyclo Steve. Hmm, mine will be a daily driver/camping vehicle.

Most collector policies state no everyday use, no off roading, no camping, or utility use.

Some companies are drastically different in thier requirements. Do the research and spend the time.

I found Hagerty to have the most relaxed rules and guidelines for one of the big insurers. Some companies were verging on ridiculous and tailored more towards garage queen show cars. Each company seems to favor one niche more than another > Some more for drivers and others more for high end show cars.

I'll check Hagerty's. I've got about a month to get this done.

Thanks, all!

I just went through this process and ended going with a company called ANPAC (anpac.com), also called CHROME (custom, hot rod, original, modified, exotic). I was looking for collector car insurance for my '65 FJ45 shortbed that appraised out at $85k. They didn't have any problems with it being off-roaded (which was a problem for the previous 3 insurance companies I talked to) and I can drive it up to 7499 miles a year. It's now insured for the agreed upon value of $85k and the premiums run me $256 for 6 months (in California). They're worth calling. Pete.
