Cape Hatteras ORV Access Issues Exposed - Your Help Needed
Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,
We received the following email from our friends over at the Outer Banks Preservation Association (OBPA), and I thought I'd pass it along to our members.
Please take a couple of minutes to read it over and pass it on!

All,
Sorry to lump you all together in one email, but done so for expedience.
Alan Pitt of Richmond/Frisco NC here once again to plead for your support in exposing the environmental craziness that is occurring in Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreation Area.
I hope some of you might remember me from sometime around 2008 or so, when we discussed this debacle briefly. It's been a while, but now we have a very compelling video production that tells the story better than any single work I've seen since this whole mess started in 2008, and I'm hoping you might be able to help us in some capacity.
Said story is contained within the video liked below:
http://vimeo.com/14696293
Or here, if that link doesn't work:

Or yet again here:
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=593797982139&ref=mf
(Covering my bases....)
Background on the video:
In the credits you will see a reference to the "Schonk Family Charitable Trust", which is what bankrolled the production. Rob Schonk, Avon NC resident and the executor of said trust was poised to donate the balance to the OBPA, (Outer Banks Preservation Association, a pro-access group, http://obpa-nc.org/joomla/), for various legal fees that have been/are being accumulated during our fight against "Critical Habitat" for the Piping Plover, trying to get the Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet replaced, and numerous other active and pending legal actions.
Frisco native and pro-access juggernaut Kim Mosher, also seen in the video, convinced Rob to instead use the value of the trust in producing a PR piece about what is going on in Hatteras, as well as putting an FM transmitter in place on HI which plays an audio loop detailing the issues within the seashore.
Both have had a huge local impact, but the content of the video has not gone unnoticed on the WWW, and has been described as "Going Viral" on its own, as well as being picked up by several east coast blogs/websites. This 20 minute segment is but a "teaser" for a full-length version that is due out this fall.
I told you all that to ask you this:
Could you possibly write about this issue on one of the various outlets you represent, place links to the video on the your websites, your FB pages, or all of the above? This is by far our best shot at getting our plight out to a more national audience, and the clout behind your different organizations name recognition could advance this issue across the Appalachians and beyond.
Please, take a look at the video, and tell me what you think. Anything you could do to help would be appreciated beyond comprehension!!
Thanks in advance for your consideration,
Alan Pitt
