Hey guys.
I told some of you about a Canadian BJ70 that is for sale locally. It's an '86 and has approx 235,000 kms (145,000 miles) on it. 3B diesel, 5 speed. The truck has two owners - the second owner bought it from his buddy.
I've driven this for a week last summer & went through the mechanicals at that time. It requires some minor maintenance - exhaust, calipers, pads, wheel cylinders, brake lines, E cable, left leaf spring, tie rod end etc. The truck smokes a little more than what I would like (more than my two) and I have a couple of ideas in fixing this.
I think it would cost approx $ 1,000 to get her whipped into great shape mechanically. There is a bit of rust on this, but I believe it's an easy fix - nothing too serious - but then again I am not a body man, so I don't want to mislead anyone with it.
The current owner is looking for $ 7,500 for it as is. I will be more than happy to drive it down to Buffalo NY and drop it of at a auto transport yard for the purchaser. This should save you a few hundred bucks & be a lot easier for you all.
One of your members (Dave with the white 80 series) is Canadian and it would be really easy for him to get it registered down there.
If anyone is interested, drop me a line at danthemoneyman@sympatico.ca & I will shoot you more pictures.
