how to get this fawking nut off?

Maybe this will help. I'm not sure if that nut will rotate independent of the corrugated tube or not, but it's probably too difficult to work on it installed in the truck. Take out the EGR cooler with the valve installed, then tackle taking the tube off on the work bench.

That nut will rotate, but it's prolly rusted in there.... Use lots of PB Blaster, kroil, etc... and heat the thing up a few times... Give it a day or so and it'll work free.

x2. I removed mine when I took my EGR off to clean it. Fortunately, no rust.

Does anyone know if all 4 of those nuts are the same size? Are they 27 mm?
25601B, 25602C, 25618C, and the one on the top of 25602 pipe?

I think the 25601B is 36mm.

Others are 27mm, but not sure about 25618C but you can use a Crescent for that.

When you reassemble, wire-wheel the nuts and use a GOOD quality, high-temp anti-seize.

here's an update: 2mbb was right, it was much easier to take the friggen cooler & all off instead of screwing with the jpipe nuts. only one small problem ocurred when i removed the two small 13mm hex bolts i broke one off in the hole. i have a used EGR valve from another truck I'd like to try. after comparing the two, i noticed my valve looks slightly different than the other. a small metal ring inside the valve body looks as if it is touching the lower body of the valve. the other part (#2 in blue) has a ring much deeper into the valve body, maybe 1/4" difference. both will move back and forth freely but wondered why such a difference?

Been There

That is the worst bolt to break IMHO I know b/c I did it but it was the other side. Soak pray and Soak some more if there is anything to grab onto attempt to get it out. I was able to drill the other side out and tap it for a larger bolt but I do not think you could fit a drill in that section. Or only option at this point is to pull the manifold and replace or drill out on a bench. If you do get it go with the SOR J pipe and fix it for good. Good Luck.

I don't know why the 2 EGR valves are different. I would clean both of them up with carb cleaner or seafoam Deep Creep, and test them by applying vacuum to the port that goes to the EGR modulator and see which one holds vacuum best. Is there something loose inside either one?
