Guys I am getting a new 3500 lb. axle for my M416 trailer. Since I will be getting rid of my old trailer axle and hub,...is there a way to still use my M416 hand brake on the new axle/hub??

Somebody please. I may be doing the same thing with my M101.

the m101 is a different ball game, its a standard 3500# axle
from what i know the 416 used a different set up.

Just realized something is your new axle a 3500#? with the 4 hole brake plate? I have the drum brakes from my m101 that should bolt right up with ebrake if your interested.

You'd have to get a new axle set up for drum brakes, or adapt mounts to the original brakes to your new axle. Either way, seems like a lot of hassle to get a functioning handbrake, I swapped out my M416 trailer's axle years ago and never looked back. I have two big rubber chocks that I use, work great and I completely eliminated a potential mechanical fail point.

if hes getting a new axle the m101 brakes should bolt right up, then he could used regular drum brake hubs with his new bolt pattern. this would retain the parkig break.

Yeah, probably just simpler without it.
