52nd Annual CA4WDC Convention

Anyone going? I will try to make it Saturday. Hudy also had some interest in going. Might be cool to get a large group together and meet up before hand and walk around convention like a slightly dysfunctional yet small mob.

Hey Ferg, I thought this was the big CA4WDC show where there are hundreds of vendors and different rigs. I didn't realize it is the one for meetings and doesn't have all the cool new parts and rigs. I thought it was more like a fair rather than meetings so I am not attending this one. I heard about it in the calendar of Petersen's and it wasn't very detailed and I am easily confused these days.

Convention is traditionaly when the Assoc gets together as a whole to conduct business. It's when they draw the winning ticket for the Sweepstakes Jeep. Normal events are as previously listed and usually include a vehicle show, vendors booths, kids games, technical workshops and demos.

This year I've been led to believe that there will not be a trade show. Marlin was quite disappointed about this. Ususally the Central District is the weakest for events and Convention, but I've been to events in the south that just plain sucked. Best Central Convention I've been to was 2005.

This year there are eight(8) kids that have applied for the CA4WDC scholarships.

I guess we'll see how that goes.

'05 one was that the big boys toys and convention in Visalia .... If it's the same one I'm thinking of it was good lots of venders , show and shine good turn out too? So why did they stop here in the central district?

With so many organizations like Cal4 you can't support them all.

Convention rotates between the District each year. Last year was North, next year is South, round and round. Going to be quite small this year. Good odds for the Jeep.
