After seeing how much snow actually fell over a 4 day period, I started thinking about what I keep in my truck or 40 in the event something would happen and I would be stuck for an undetermined amount of time far away from civilization or stuck overnight on a hwy in the middle of a snow storm due to road closures. I had the usual warm clothes, a pretty good medical kit, and some food, but nothing that would really be considered emergency ready.
So during some free time in the evenings I have researched what makes a good Bug Out Kit (emergency bag) and a good medical kit. Lots of sites say the exact same thing and Bill Burke has not invented the wheel here. He just got lucky and filled a niche with his survival series shows/info. After printing out a lot of lists, most of them had the exact same things or items that only Dustin could get his hands on for medical reasons. (Don’t call him for stuff you should not be playing with)
In short, I made two lists. I already have a pretty good medical kit, so I will be adding anything on my list that I do not have or needs to be replaced.
If anyone wants to add something I forgot, or thinks is needed, post up.
Side note, some of the items on the list I have and some are what I would consider necessary while others may not. But, I am sure I forgot something that should be included. My goal was to have a duffle bag hold the Bug Out Kit, not a giant body bag of stuff.
