After seeing how much snow actually fell over a 4 day period, I started thinking about what I keep in my truck or 40 in the event something would happen and I would be stuck for an undetermined amount of time far away from civilization or stuck overnight on a hwy in the middle of a snow storm due to road closures. I had the usual warm clothes, a pretty good medical kit, and some food, but nothing that would really be considered emergency ready.

So during some free time in the evenings I have researched what makes a good Bug Out Kit (emergency bag) and a good medical kit. Lots of sites say the exact same thing and Bill Burke has not invented the wheel here. He just got lucky and filled a niche with his survival series shows/info. After printing out a lot of lists, most of them had the exact same things or items that only Dustin could get his hands on for medical reasons. (Don’t call him for stuff you should not be playing with)

In short, I made two lists. I already have a pretty good medical kit, so I will be adding anything on my list that I do not have or needs to be replaced.

If anyone wants to add something I forgot, or thinks is needed, post up.

Side note, some of the items on the list I have and some are what I would consider necessary while others may not. But, I am sure I forgot something that should be included. My goal was to have a duffle bag hold the Bug Out Kit, not a giant body bag of stuff.

pretty cool video. He is a bit too much into himself hearing his own voice and a bit on the obsessive side, but he has good ideas.

Kinda like his idea, I have a lot of this stuff, I just need to gather some new items and keep them together and keep them a central location. I will include pepper spray and I think my mother has a stun gun she no longer keeps in her purse that I might see if I can grab (she got one when they were popular to carry in the 90s). I once had a really stocked medical bag, but pulled items out when needed and have not been good about replacing them.

I am really concerned about the medical stuff since my boy could hurt himself and I really want to be able to take care of the problem if it happens. I my need to get prescriptions for osme of the items I need, but that is what insurance is for.

Prescriptions for what. Just carry a gun that will take care of the peper spray and stun gun.

I think in an urban environment all you need is the gun period. with all the people around you can use the gun to take their stuff. I know if a disaster hits lemoore im going to rob Dan first as I can probably get everything i need with that one stop

That is fine... I pln on sticking my head in the ground and pretending there is nothing wrong like democrats do...

As for scripts, that would be any that I or my family normaly take and have at least a week worths stored up in case it is needed.

I do the same thing. I keep about a weeks worth of my heartburn pills and a decent amount of Ambien.

Can't forget about the little blue pills.... Got to keep the blood flowing to the right places :)

I am talking about things that need an appointment rather than a stop by the house type.

Post up pics of your Hummer! You should make a build thread.
