Wait, I might be going to this event. My buddy Dan asked me to join him (driving his new J**p) at something called 'truck fest' tomorrow. We are heading out around 7am and meeting a few other guys at hwy 100 & 44. I'm thinking I must have heard wrong or he stated the name wrong and we must be going to 'truck fest'

Looks like a pretty big event - where are you guys meeting up?

I'll probably be coming from the south side of Rovertsville since its only 20 minutes from my house. Look for my white yota.

P.S. It will be a muddy mess with all the rain so if yur buddy's Jeep is an open to make sure you dress accordingly.

I'm going to follow him and a few other Jeep guys down - all are meeting at 44 & 100 around 7:30 a.m. so I'll be in my 80.

I'll be on CB 15 if you have access to a radio (as I recall you manage to get by all these years without one :-).

I'll be riding with Dan in his Jeep, and b/c of the predicted muddy mess, he plans to run with the top on tomorrow.

Hope to see you there.

Really muddy! What happened to you guys Miescha? I went to drop off those girls and never saw you guys the rest of the day. Did you ever get the problems worked out with your buddy's Jeep?

I'll post up some pics when I get home later tonight or over lunch. In the end, we determined that both header connections to the exhaust were held on by only one bolt out of three (per side). We were able to get it tightened down using about $6 in parts from the NAPA store that was there.

Dan ran that Jeep hard as hell the rest of the day mostly flying around/over the obstacle course (we nearly rolled a few times). We called it a day around 1pm when he blew a seal on the tranny shifter and sprayed tranny fluid all over the engine and underside which led to a ton of smoke in the cabin (I actually thought there was a fire!). In the end he lost very little fluid (not enough to register on the dip stick) but the tranny cooler also wasn't kicking on and it was getting pretty warm. So we called it a day, grabbed some lunch and headed back (I had a meeting in the afternoon anyway).

For my part, my 80 was one of the few stock or 'near stock' vehicles that made it in and out of the mud soup in the parking area despite not have mud tires (just the BFG A/Ts). I did lock up the center and drop it in low but it did just fine.

The day seemed to get nicer as we were leaving.

I thought maybe those girls came down with you - frankly, it was getting pretty crazy when we left and they said they had about 5,000 people there and still a long line to get in.
