Gday all,

After my weekend away 4wd'ing, (in my '86 BJ74, 13BT) there was a strange 'whiney' noise coming from my engine. After washing all the dirt off, i found the tensioner pulley for the power steering had sort of buckled to one side an was on an angle. The belt is half worn away and i dont know how i did approx 6-8hrs with it like this.....

Anyone know if there is a good replacement for these or has anyone got one lying around? or is it straight to TOYOTA?

Thanks

The idler pulley is $47 from the dealer. Can be rebuilt if you want to find the bearing at Consolidated Bearings Co

Is your bolt still there? I would be investigating what allowed it to move sideways 1st

toyota

$47 at the dealer? where?
I just went to TOYOTA and they said no to any of it...

I was on the phone to Scarboro Toyota and asked them about it while I was there
I used this part number 88440-12160.It also suits a BJ70 and BJ73

I got the part number form here
ToyoDIY.com

I just double checked with another dealer and they confirmed there is one only in the WA warehouse although their price was $54.
The NSW dealers can order it back from WA if they need it

Dont ever take the word of the spare parts people at dealers, many of them will say no because they are too lazy to source parts for older vehicles or are too dumb to search their own EPC.

It also looks similar to a 1hz 1hd t idler but you would need to have one to compare

Try another dealer,if you dont have any luck send me a PM
