Thanks everyone for coming! Great turn and for me the best part was meeting a few folks who I didn't know previously. Special thanks to Tlc Guy Jim Frazier Shawn Patrick Taylor for the food prep and the folks who brought all the great treats, including Kolache (Andres Carrasquero), fried plantains (Luis Carrillo), fruits (Anton Cabellon) and all the folks who brought donuts, fruits etc. Thanks to Chris Evans for his input on the organization as well. Thanks to Shawn Taylor for the photos. Good luck to William Ha on his move south!
I want to extend a very special thanks to Arjun Kumar who had this idea way back in 2017 and its now finally coming to life! Hope we see you here soon.
It was especially nice to see Ron Featherston who was a member of the Hoosier Cruisers which was a TLCA chapter here in Indiana years ago. His thoughts are appreciated and hopefully he will find time to hang out when he’s not reassembling his FJ40.
A quick update on the club formation. By the end of today I will be submitting the bylaws to the TLCA for review and to get us on the docket for the next TLCA meeting on August 1 where we hope to be voted in as an official club. Eric is working on a slide show for the TLCA board. We’ve spoken to to Heather Royston and Rick Allen who have given us some time to guide us down the path of becoming a TLCA Club. Thanks to Ryan Apple and Jackson Philby for their input as well.
Currently our corporate ID number has been applied for and the articles and by-laws will be done soon. INLC will be a 501c(7) non-profit which is a designation for clubs like ours. Then we need to get the banking portion set up. So, we hope to be offering memberships sometime in September. The goal will be monthly meet ups (at a minimum) and a fall campout, probably in Hoosier National Forest this year. The membership dues will be used for the expenses of the trips, business expenses of the club and get together’s. Hopefully more as the membership grows.
What we will need are folks who have ideas for things to do or may be willing to plan an evening cruise or whatever sounds like a good time. It doesnt need to be anything elaborate. So shoot ideas over, the more involvement we have the better this club will be.
Additionally, we are looking for folks to serve as officers or BOD. At this point in time it’s not a big commitment. One or two meetings a year which will be held in a state of the art conference room (I’m not kidding). So if you are interested please let us know.
Thank you again to everyone who came to say hello! PLEASE share pictures if you took any. I didn't get a chance to get my camera out today!
I will post all of this on Mud as well.
