Closing in on 80k and the wife has been complaining about the brake travel. Figured they were due so I bought new pads. Got the old ones off, ( they are exactly like the other Toyota's I own) and couldnt believe that they had in my estimation, worn a little more than 50%. 4 years of city driving, you would think done more damage than this.

Just changed my front pads only, at 67K miles w/ 3 mm left on them

Changed out mine for the first time at 92,000 miles and they were still usable. Rears were worn more than the fronts, which I thought was interesting since common wisdom and Newtonian physics says that the front brakes should do most of the work.

I would like just a little bit more from my stock brakes. Granted, I'm still comparing them to the feel and capability of my modified GTI's brakes (which is completely unfair, I know). But after I nearly got taken out by an over-eager jackass pulling a boat a couple weeks ago I've been thinking about a pad upgrade for a little more bite at speed.
