i just bought a 2006 tundra and i dont know if i have a problem un the transmission or breaks. when i come to a stop and then start again everyonce and a while its like there is a hard shift, maybe into first. and then when i brake i dont know if there is a vibration or if it is just the brakes working.

does the steering wheel go back and forth while braking?
yes? the front rotors are warped.

does the trans have a shift kit?

has it been serviced recently? ever?

does it have rear drums? are the shoes out of adjustment?
is it missing hardware?

X2 on Wristpin's check list,

Does it have a lift and maybe the driveshaft is binding?

Check the casting on the front calipers from under the truck. It should have the 13WL Calipers that fixed the vibration issue. If not, it's something to consider.

And the clunk when coming to a stop is usually the driveshaft binding as someone pointed out. Give it some grease. Not a serious problem.
