Interestingly, someone on the AU 200 series FB group commented that "The MY16 do take 17s but only in the GXL. The VX and Sahara take 18s." regarding the wheel sizes. I asked why and was told that those models had a larger brake system. To my knowledge all LC200s sold in the US to date all have a "smaller" brake system. Is this still true? I wonder if we could get the parts for the VX or Sahara brakes and run them on ours without having to revert to Tundra brakes (maybe they are the same thing). Hmm...

contact Brian Jowett as the subject matter expert on brakes. the 2016 and 17 got upgraded to the 354mm brakes, similar to the tundra.

he is working on a parts list to retrofit 15 and older trucks to the newer parts.

even old school Tundra brakes work pretty good at stopping 35's.....

Interesting. I didn't realize Toyota made a change. Too bad I just put new tires on last week or I would have strongly considered this.

It's unfortunate that the TRD brake kit options available for the 2009 Tundra don't seem to fit a 2009 Land Cruiser. I'm looking to do a brake upgrade but nothing too extensive. Was hoping for a decent TRD or aftermarket option for rotors, calipers and pads that would fit under Rock Warrior wheels.

@jetstream23 check out terrain tamer, they are offering drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads for the 200.

I believe Ward is working with Murph at CBT.
I swapped everything over to Tundra components, and have not personally used the terrain tamer equipment, but from what I've read it is high quality stuff.

Take this from the perspective of a vendor, but you might want to check out non-OEM alternatives like the Terrain Tamer option, which we import/distribute.

Georg Esterer @orangefj45 at Valley Hybrids in Stockton has done a ton of the TT slotted/drilled/beveled rotors and composite pads with good results, including 200s. Ask him about OEM vs. HP upgrades - shop number is 209-475-8808

Not cheap, but great performance and service life, so total cost over the service life of the system is attractive.
