Hi,

Looking to do some bodywork to my 1974 FJ40. Quarters are getting a little rough. Front looks fantastic.

So debating doing a quarter replacement (CCOT or Aqualu).

Aqualu Quarter: #4014 Rear Quarter Panels - Smooth - https://www.hardbody4x4.com/4014-rear-quarter-panels---smooth.html
CCOT Quarter: CCOT Quarter Panels ~ Die Cut - https://www.coolcruisers.com/quarpan79to8.html

Let me know if you have had experience with either and if you have a body/paint shop you can recommended to do the work.

Thanks.

I used the CCOT quarters and had a buddy cut out the old and welded in the new. The CCOT quarters are high-quality thick steel and fit perfectly. I was a bystander, but the process as I recall was to trace the new quarters onto the truck with a sharpie, then cut away the old steel. There is bracing (both the rear sill bracing and bracing on the top section of the panels) behind the old quarters that you don't want to cut through, so had to be careful not to slice too deep. Then, weld the new metal in, grind and finish. All-in-all, a fairly simple procedure from my perspective.
