It's been a while since we've had some good tech on here, so I thought I'd post up my project for today. My rear quarters are looking pretty rough after years of abuse, so I figured I'd do something about it. The nice thing was I was able to do it with stuff I had laying around.

Awesome work!

I may need help with some body work on my 40 too. Got any more decals left?

Do they work on diffs?

Thanks for the interest in this process. You can call my people and schedule an appointment, but the wait is getting significant. Also I'm in talks right now with the Discovery Channel on a possible new show, and there may be parts for some of you on it. I'll obviously play the creative genius, but I still need a goofball sidekick. I'll probably need a couple of flunkies to yell at too.

Perry, are you putting another coarse-spline pinion in there? Does that thing have a traction bar?

Traction bar is on the menu before it hits the trails again for several reasons....problem with coarse spline? running 30 spline axles off the lockrite

Fine spline pinion is stronger. How much more? :meh: Dunno.

Edit: Let me clarify that. Fine spline is stronger for stripping the splines. Both will break about the same when binding the u-joint, like yours was.

...stripping splines - less collateral damage but still stopped on the trail. Hopefully trac bar and a gentle foot will avoid both.

It's low riders that should bounce, not slow riders. :grinpimp:

Unless you gotta traction bar.
