I need to put a small body lift on my 40 1"-11/2" will I have to replace the bolts or are they long enough? Also any resources for parts.

Anyone want to help:D

Thanks

Bro I'll help you depending when you do it...

Are you going to buy a body lift kit? I know a few people have done it with hockey pucks (1 -1 1/2 inch )

James I was hoping that someone who has done this would chime in. I'm looking for direction of what I could use and where I might get it. I would consider buying a kit if the price isn't to outrageous.

Man A Fre has the 2" 4 Plus brand which uses Aluminum mounts. It is expensive but it comes with everything including the front bib support block.

For a 1" or a 1 1/2" lift, many people buy the Rollers from a Boat Trailer. I think they are $15 at WalMart. They cut them down to the correct length and install them. Super Cheap and incredibly strong. They absorb vibration much better thant the aluminum mounts so you do not feel or hear every noise inside the cab.

You are welcome to come out and get measurements from one of my FJ40's. It has the Man A Fre 2" 4 Plus brand which uses Aluminum mounts. Measure the mounts and measure the bolt lengths and you are good to go on a shopping spree.

I can also show you how you carburetor linkage may be effected. D'Oh!

I made mine out of 2" solid round stock of UHMW. 11/2" spacer but I don't remember length of bolts. I can measure stock bolts and add to the for correct bolt length.
