I live near Portage. Any recommendations on a who to take my 80 to do a head gasket?

Have antifreeze dripping out of the tail pipe. That would be the diagnosis correct?

tailpipe drippage is a good sign...

Sadly, I'm aware of no Cruiser shops in the state...I need to get my FZJ80 worked on as well. If I can get mine to make it there, I plan to take it down to The Shop Auto, just south of Neenah.

...or drive it off a bridge on the way there...

I know they advertise on MUD, but do we have anyone with 1st hand knowledge of:

RxAuto Head Gasket Repair | Blown Head Gasket | Call 1-866-780-9042

Understand they are a paying advertiser. PM me if you must. Not sure would be way I would consider going, but like to know if you know of anyone that have used their product successfully.

Never hear of them, they are NOT a supporting Vendor, it's likely from one of the ad networks.

Haven't been on here much lately. Sold my 80 for a Tundra. Think Hank that was on here way back is service Mgr at Lenz trucks in Fond Du lac. He had offered to do my 80's Head gasket. Traded it in instead. Hope the poor SOB that bought it got a drive train warranty. Think I may still have the DVD someone made about how to do it yerself.

good thot, Lenz truck does the work on my DMax now and Hank just bought an 80 to add to his fleet...

Sounds like I should give Hank a call. Not sure how to get it to him... Fondy would be about an hour and 15 or so from me.

ccoli,

I would be interested in that DVD if you could find it.

Which one of these is Hank?

Lenz Truck Center: Our Staff

I PM him as well, but if anyone has a contact info for him...please let him know I would like to know if he wants to work on a tired FZJ80 needing a head gasket repair.
Also ordering a fan clutch from Landtank to try and combat having this issue again. Anything else I should be replacing while have everything stripped off?
I have an oil leak that is kind of anoying, probably need to figure that one out too. :)

Dan "Hank" Bergin, the best looking one on that page! lol The Hank part has a story but if I told you I'd probably have to kill you so, we will leave that out.

I sent you a PM. I have the DVD, it came with my 80 from Florida. PO used it with sucess doing the HG on mine. I'd be happy to share it. No money needed, wouldn't want to cheat out the person who did the hard work to make the dvd.

Thanks Hank on the DVD. Replied to your PM.

Now if I can just find a garage with a little heat in it, and a gob of time... I always get more satisfaction by doing things on my own. :)

Hank has offered up his DVD. Perhaps I need to watch the thing before I make the final decision on if I'll tackle this job by myself. Looking to start mods this spring anyway...

bit of a thread revival but am wondering if you found a good shop for the head gasket in the area and/or what you ended up doing?

Guy I used is no longer in the area. Moved earlier this year.

what did it run you if you don't mind me asking for reference

If you send me your cruisers ill do the head gaskets .

B.T.W I'm now in colorado so you could get a vacation and the head gaskets done at the same time scenery is breath taking .
