Importation was a breeze - 1992 makes the truck 27 years old which is exempt from EPA and DOT. The seller had prior experience with importing and exporting cruisers -- He has actually sold 4 cruisers that he had imported from Japan to the Landcruiser museum in Salt Lake. We got our documents in order and headed to the border station to import it.
By the way -
I found a guy on Seattle craigslist selling a full length roof Baja Rack and ARB awning. It's a flat rack with a 20" basket in the front - he agreed to hold it until we were in the PNW.
Next, we make some other stops on our road trip - Visit the Space Needle in Seattle, visit Mt. Rainer and do some hiking, stopped by a friends house in Ellensburg, WA, Rested our heads at my aunts place in Baker City, OR, and headed to Salt Lake City the next day. We didn’t realize there were In-N-Out’s in SLC!!
The next morning, we stopped in at the LandCruiser Heritage Museum and saw Cruiser Dan. Not sure what my favorite cruiser was - probably all of them. This HJ61 was Nikki’s favorite — the retro decals did it for her.
On to Colorado - A trade organization I am part of is based in Boulder, CO and regularly puts on Continuing Ed. I signed up for a free class that is held this Friday - so part of this trip functions as a business expense

. We plan on hitting a small trail tomorrow near Georgetown, Co. After the class on Friday, we’ll be heading back towards KC.
I have plenty of plans for the cruiser. First, some maintenance items, I need to get the A/C sorted out and Cruise Control. Eventually do a knuckle and rear axle service. I already have some wheels to put on -- We picked them up for the 4runner but ended up selling the 4runner.
