Black Bear Pass is closed until further notice for public safety reasons due to a vehicle teetering off the edge on one of the switchbacks above the falls (power plant). A South Carolina man drove his Kia Telluride up the one way road on Black Bear Rd, despite being advised not to do so by people in the area. About three to four switchbacks passed the falls, he got stuck with wheels off the side of the road, leaving the vehicle unstable. It is not safe for cars to drive around it. The vehicle requires tow, and it is unknown at this point when this can happen. Bridal Veil Road up to the Falls is also closed just passed the parking lot which prohibits access to the Via Ferrata. Bridal Veil Trail will remain open.
