Hi, I'm wanting to install a tach using the stock sensor (in the bellhousing of the 13bt.)
I don't have the stock one, either so my question is more theory than technical...
The connector dangling from the bellhousing has 2 wires, both appear to be black. In the original setup, did power go in one and then the "signal" would come out the other wire?
This is not an emergency but if anyone has any idea what each wire is supposed to transmit, it would be very helpful.
Thanks a bunch
J

I might be screwed up but IIRC the sensor has 1 lead. The tach receives 24v power from 1 lead, negative from another, and finally the lead from the sensor.

i could be wrong however....

Hmmm, maybe I've got the wrong lead. It is round/cylindrical and is white plastic. Are there other leads off the bellhousing? I'l re-check thanks! :D

Absolutely no problem (if I find it)...Hope you get that injector/timing issue sorted out...

The sensor part # is 83180-60040 and it seems to cross over to many applications, which infers that it is not voltage specific.

Attached is a picture of the sensor in a bellhousing, and the line that comes off it.

The sensor uses the "Hall Effect" I believe is the term.
