My PTO drive shaft splines and u-joints are worn out (clunk, clunk, clunk) and I am wondering where I could get some part #. The link below has everything but the PTO shaft components. Any help out there ?
I only keep a few here, but can get more in a day or two. The shafts are wobbly from the factory as they are designed to spin at slow speed. Usually putting in new joints makes a world of difference to the noise level.
Thanks Rosco and John - the 4 U-joints seem OK to me - it is the front yoke (#37311) for the front winch shaft drive (with the shear pin hole).
It has elliptical wobble and makes a clunk, clunk sound when the PTO drive shaft turns. I guess the hole is worn out and is too big for the winch shaft and it is banging when it rotates. Has anyone fixed that yoke, or should be replaced?
They tend to be quite loose and wobbly from the factory. The PTO shaft should only really spin at low speeds. If you're doing more than about 1000 rpm in second it's going to be noisy...
