Is there anything available?

I had a supplier in Vancouver, he is now in the bussy season and cannot fit me in for the install.

Anthing I can buy and install?

Thanks

Can a 3B hold a cruise? sure on the flats, but the drop off would be extreme in the hills.

Personally I have used the hand throttle on the highway when its flat and not dangerous. But the hand doesn't go in quickly if needed. It always seems to jam at the wrong time.

Try Autotemp in Calgary. They supply lots of different cruise applications. One may work for you. I have brought them a Rav at one time. Maybe that will help.

Speaking of Cruise....

Has anyone put Cruise on a BJ-74? I just came back from driving to New Brunswick, from Ottawa and really wished I had cruise control. I leave for Newfoundland in 2 weeks so I am hoping to find sonething that I can install before then.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Todd

I have had the most luck with the cruise is the kit from canadian tire i installed it in about half an hour. There is a cable the conects your brake and cltuch to cancel the cruise. There is a tee which you just have to put in a vaccum line and then connect to the cruiser vaccum tank and it even comes with its own wiring harness that you feed through the fire wall you just need to get 12 volts to the wiring harness and that is about the hardest part.

Robb, you should have asked me. I bought a "Diesel" specific electronic cruise out of Oz some time back. I'm just waiting to put it in when I get my rig. I WONT drive without a cruise baby. Here she is.

Robb, you just need a non-vacuum assist cruise control. Rostra is a brand with a good reputation, there's an Audiovox-branded Rostra out there. Here's some links I Googled:

Most of the cruise control installations noted so far in this thread have been vacuum-assisted. Has anyone considered two systems which require no vacuum that are made by Rostra (They make the Audiovox system), Ultra Cruise and Global Cruise. The systems are priced between the Audiovox ($100) and McCruise ($600) at approx. $225 depending on the type of controller purchased. Here are a few links for background:
