Just arrived home after a 3200 mile road trip to Florida, my LX has 87,000 miles and runs like a top. I just put new 285/50R20/XL 116H Michelins on and according to speed app, I am running 3 miles slower then the digital readout in the dash....78 mph is only 75 mph? Can this be calibrated so it matches up? Also just an FYI I averaged 15.9 mpg on premium nothing outside but some extra weight inside. Thank you in advance for any help!!!

It can be calibrated by buying taller tires ;-)

Aside from that there is a CANBUS-based speedometer correction module available from Marks 4WD for the LC. Presumably it would work for the LX. I've not tried it though

Update called Lexus...”Sir it is quite common and normal for the speed to be off by 2-3 mph“. Looks like taller tires next time!

There have been lawsuits for odometer discrepancies, and speedometer issues. Most if not all manufactuers all separate the speedometer from the odometer. The odometer will be very close to accurate (as this is what most lawsuits have been based on, a Honda I owned was involved in a settlement). Manufactuers will also purposefully make the speedometer slightly under the speed limit to avoid liability for any issues/liability caused for exceeded the speed limit based on speedometer reliance.

So bigger tires will correct the speedometer, but underreport miles (if that matters to you).

Big tires are like a free extended warranty ;-)

Where the Class Action Lawsuit should be is with Government , EPA sets MPG for new vehicles , Car manufactures have to post MPG on the window sticker of your new vehicle per Government .
New Vehicle manufactures use 100 % non Ethanol gasoline to meet the EPA MPG .
Government mandates you buy blended Ethanol gas with 10% Ethanol , so you brand new vehicle can never meet the MPG the GOV mandates using the gas they regulate .
My Land Cruiser loves non Ethanol fuel gets better fuel milage and gas last long and does not absorb water .
My state sucks ... They take the Highway money , only a hand full of counties do a Emissions scam rip off ...The counties with out Emissions have non ethanol at the pump .
I had inspection and emission at my shop , huge cash cow and rip off .
Iowa has some of the most polluted ground water and soil in the United States thanks to growing corn for gasoline aka Agricultural Welfare rips off the rest of America .
My Cheerios and Nature Valley bars have Round Up Weed killer in it and GOV USDA and EPA says its with in there levels for human consumption thanks to corn for Ethanol for Gasoline .
May be a little off subject ... non Ethanol better milage .
