And or wiring to same.

I have 67K miles and have an issue with P0352 and P0456 codes.

I was heading up a mountain, on the gas, and suddenly the christmas tree lights come on and I lose most all of the power. Running really rough and limped back to the stealer and they found the above codes. The back story needs to be told here to make sense of this.

A few days ago I had the tree lights come on, but drove home without power loss and the engine was running fine. Later on when I moved the FJ into the garage, it started up really rough, with all the lights on. I didn't take any chances and had the rig trailered to the dealer. Of course when they started it, it ran fine, no codes, no lights. They did find a recent history of the above codes which I think means intermittent ignition problems on #2 coil. Since the rig was running just fine, they said they took it for a ride with their computer hooked up and found nothing. They said they actually switched #2 and #4 coils to see if anything would happen and nothing. So they gave it back to me. I believe them when they said they put several hours into this and NO CHARGE.

So tonight the code(s) indicate #2 coil again. After getting an inkling of how these new fangled engines work, a dedicated coil for each cylinder? my guess is the wiring to #2 coil, not the coil.

ANYONE have anything like this happen to them and what was the fix???

This guy was talking about the possibility of installing a whole new wiring harness from the ECU -- $4300?:flame:

Thanks for any input.

it does sound like its the wires. next time it happens try to move the wires around. if it stops running rough may be just wires at #2 if not may be farther in. inshers may pay for the wirwing harness and laber if a rodent got in to the wires.
