Hey guys,
The time has come for me to do the big end bearings in my 80 series 1hz. It was built in 1997 and currently has 350000kms on it. According to the factory gauge (not that it can really be trusted) oil pressure is good, she doesn't blow much smoke or breath heavy and so I'm planning on putting a turbo on her. Before I do this I'd like to give the bottom end a birthday. I've done plenty of reading both online and in the Gregorys manual as to how to do the job and I've come to a point where I can choose to do it myself (with no prior experience in this particular area) or can pay someone the $550 for the labour. What I want to know is, who else out there has attempted this with no prior experience and did you succeed? Did you fail?
Cheers
