Howdy All- Getting a new floor jack and jack stands... a little leery of the chinese made brands...anyone have any recommendations...looking at 3+ ton floor jack and 6-ton stands?

Really dig the Hein-Werners, but a little pricey...I guess you pay for what you get though...

It's hard to beat the price and quality of the good 'ole Harbor Freight orange 6 ton stands. I don't think they are orange anymore though.

As for jacks, I would advise against any of the cheaper Craftsman jacks. I have one that was a bundle deal with stands and it has issues. It bleeds down in a few hours, the handle is cheap, and the spring that keeps the handle upright has broken so the handle falls down a lot. Plus, it doesn't really have good release control. It's kinda all or nothing sometimes.

This Arcan jack that Northern tool sells gets good reviews from other offroaders.

Napa usually has good jacks, too.

The Hein-Werners are nice, but pricey. I think for occasional use, a sub-$200 jack ought to work for many years to come.

Josh- Thanks...great advice...I've also heard good things about the Arcan jack...

Your jack does suck Josh.. I think it's time for a new one as well.

Christmas is coming up, maybe Santa Waldo can get him a new one :)

haha, I'm better at supplying the moon shine. It's bout that time to make another batch. I have one jar left over from last year that I'm keeping around.

Occasionally NAPA has a sale on their jacks.
Sometimes up to $100 off. I have 2 or 3 and never had a problem.

A quick lift (double piston) jack is the only way to go IMO.

I have a bottle left too. Is it okay to leave out of the refrigerator cause I forgot I had it and it hasn't been refrigerated...

NAPA has a nice 3.5 ton floor jack on sale right now for $250.00
I have one of these and it is very heavy duty. Not a quick lift, but really nice.

Reg. price is $395...part # is 791-6420
