I just upgraded from V1 to V2 of the Bellfab interior tire carrier, and wanted to put a good word in for it.

I really liked the V1, it was very well made, mounted sturdily, and was an excellent solution for secure interior tire storage.

That being said, it had a tiny bit of side to side movement offroad that I was chasing to fix. The mass of the tire/rim was just more than the bottom mounted setup could resist, so I got some vibration.

V2 is sturdily mounted both top and bottom, fore and aft, using the rearmost seat belt hole and the third row grab handle. It is mounted as solid as a rock and super sturdy.

V1 required a few drilled holes in the floor of the cargo area, V2 uses all factory mounting points. It comes with all new hardware.

Installation was quick and intuitive, easily done by one person. Like many things, loosely installing bolts at first allows fine tuning before final tightening. This is important so the horizontal crossbar can freely slide in a full up/down range of motion.

I got this the day before a trip (thanks @Bellfab for making that happen!), but the molle panel didn't arrive until after I left, so I can't comment on that part yet.

I put a couple of thousand miles on this setup, two days in an offroad park doing challenging terrain and a week of back roads and trails in the Appalachians. It was rock solid the whole time.

I'd give this mod a "highly recommended " rating.

When solo, I camp in the rig, and don't want a swing out, so this is the perfect solution.

If I can find or make a gullwing window, the molle panel is going to be a great addition too. I am thinking of putting frequently used recovery gear there for quick access.

Thanks for the thorough review...I figured that the V2 would be well built! I really like my V1, but could definitely see the extra storage with the molle panel as a plus with access thought a gull wing on that side. Nice work @Bellfab to update the design to use factory solid mounting points for a next level design! I'll probably upgrade at some point, but so many projects to do...

Thank you, I really appreciate the review! So pumped you were able to get it installed in time and take it out for a little testing. 🙌🏻

I just got a chance to install the Molle panel. It also went on easily.

An emu wing style window would make this perfect. Anyone have a Us driver side flip open cargo window panel collecting dust that you'd sell me? If not, it's on my DIY list.

Speaking of dust, apologies for the pictures. I just got back from a week on dusty roads/trails.

This would be a perfect spot for the most frequently used recovery items, for easy access.

Here's a snapshot:

No-drill is a bonus - especially for guys like me who worry about rust in the rainy PNW 👍

Was that two full-sized adults sleeping in the back with the spare?

No, just one adult, sleeping bag with extra blankets (Rumple, highly recommended). You might fit two people if they were very cozy with each other. 🥰
