So my wife :princess: got me a MrBeer brewing kit for x-mas. I have been wanting to try home brewing for a long time and was looking into a real kit. But since I got this I'm going to start with it first to see how it works. Has anyone ever done one of these kits?? Thoughts, comments and tips are welcome!!

First impression is that its definitely setup to the MrBeer corp. You have to buy from them because they use a 2 gallon keg instead of what I believe is common standard 5 gallon. Everything is as dummy proof as it can be so hopefully I will be drinking for the Superbowl. Brewing starts this Sunday

JP had a Mr Beer kit back in college as I recall he only did it a cpl times. I think it was drinkable but nothing special. I have been brewing for about 6? Years now with a real kit glass carboys the whole deal and its fun and I have turned out some really good beers.

I was hoping to do that but since the wife bought me the mrbeer kit I figured its as good as any place to start.

Where do you buy your supplies locally??

I always ordered everything online even with shipping it was usually the same or cheaper than anything local. I haven't lived in the upstate in almost 5 years now though. Thomas Creek used to have a little shop at the brewery.
