Headed down to beef basin next weekend June 6-7th to go camping and explore some ruins and arch sites. Does any one know of any cool stuff to check out down there. Also if anyone would like to go.

Check out the expeditionutah.com forum. They have 800 Beef Basin trip reports and threads.

Thanks expedition utah is now my favorite site to plan trips.

So we headed out toward Beef basin this weekend. It was the 2nd day after a huge rain storm and just before temps we're going to start rising. This is a view from Salt creek Mesa just before we hit the turn off for beef basin.

The decent into Beef basin is clay, it looks like someone had fun trying to make this hill climb a few days earlier.

We checked out a lot of ruins. This was my favorite, the roof was still intact.

We set up camp near a horse coral, I was scrambling to find a spot before dark. The next we found lots of great camping. If I just have drove a little further.

The next day we explored till it got hot and then drove out elephant hill. Bobbi's hole was in good shape and it was fun to check out the needles section of canyon land national park. We made it back to moab by 3pm and the fj 80 burned 21 gals on gas total. Distance with all of our exploring around was 240 miles.

Sweet...

Hi all,

Neat trip, huh?! I did it back in mid-April, but the reverse direction. Started out camping at Devil's Kitchen for three nights, then out back to Moab via Beef Basin.

Regards

Alan
