I am building an outback trailer from an M100 millitary trailer to trail behind my 60, 80 and/or 4runner and I am short on electrical skills. I am planning to mount a 12 volt battery in the trailer so i can have running water, lights to cook by and all things electric. Does anyone have any knowledge and/or ideas on how to get the battery charged from the truck? Any advise greatly appreciated.

I'm not an electrical person, but when I had a battery added to our trailer, we had to install a 7-pin (vs a 4 pin) electrical hook-up between my '94 and the trailer. Some of the add'l pins are for the electrical brakes, but one is for the trickle charge to the trailer battery. I'd think any RV, auto parts store, etc. could help you.
