What are the tools I will need to complete my first tune-up on my 60? Hardware-wise.

As for parts:
Plugs
Wires
Distributor cap
Distributor rotor
Fuel filter
Air filter
PCV valve/grommet

Oil change:
8 quarts (was going to use Mobil "Higher Milage" 15W40, but Shell Rotella is cheaper)

Tranny/T-case?

What brands do you recommend for parts? I was thinking Bosch for most of the stuff. K&N air filter will have to wait until the next change.

How much time between tune-ups?

Thanks!

when i got my rig it had bosch and it ran warmer...switched to NGK and it ran like a top..i dint really know how long it was since the PO did the last tune up so i just replaced everything with napa brand and it ran great, but with the NGK plugss!!!

prob would not be a bad idea to drain and refill you tranny and t-case and both axles because in some cases its never been done...as for the air filter i just use napa and replace it every 7,000 miles...helps not eat gas so much :)

for tune up stuff I ONLY use OEM Toyota, its the best there is. plugs can be ND or NGK

for oil and air filters I use WIX (oil is 51515)

I would prolly add, t-stat, upper and low gaskets. If needing a anti freeze change, 2 gallon of the Toyota red.

check belts for cracks, if suspect replace with Toyota.

not sure if this rig is new to you but if so I would drain and refill the front/rear/t-case/trany.....or at least check them.

Thanks, guys.

Yes, the truck is brand new to me... had it a week today. Thanks for the recommendations.

ppppssstt check pimps sig line...hes prolly right but napa is still better than the old crapola thats in there :)

Well, my wife just bought me a 189-piece automotive repair tool kit, so I guess I am covered for the repairs.

I will see what I can do this Saturday and post back my results. Wish me luck.
